Additional caution may be needed with alpha-blockers, blood-pressure medications, certain heart conditions, or substantial alcohol use. How is tadalafil different from sildenafil?

Both are PDE5 inhibitors and both are plain tablets. The difference is the schedule: sildenafil is taken ahead of time, and tadalafil can be taken ahead of time or as a smaller dose every day. Your provider decides which from your history.

Daily or as needed — which will I get?

Your provider decides from your visit. As-needed dosing suits people who can plan; a low daily dose suits people who would rather not think about it at all. Either can be changed later by messaging your provider.

Does food or alcohol change it?

Food does not meaningfully change how tadalafil is absorbed. Substantial alcohol can lower blood pressure alongside it, and your provider will go through that with you before prescribing.

What must I not take with it?
