Getting started

What is Koves?

Koves is personalised care, delivered. Tell us about your health and your goals, get matched with a plan built around them by a licensed provider, and have it arrive at your door.

No waiting rooms, no guesswork, no surprise bills. Your plan follows your goals rather than a template, a real clinician reviews every intake, and every order ships in plain packaging.

Why Koves?

Because most care makes you work for it: book weeks out, sit in a waiting room, chase a pharmacy, then do it again next month.

Koves collapses that into one place — the same clinicians and the same standards, without the friction. You start online on your schedule, see the full cost before you are charged, and can message your care team to adjust as you go.

How does it work?

Four steps, and most people finish the first one in under five minutes.

One, share your goals and health history online. Two, a licensed provider reviews them and prescribes if it is appropriate. Three, a licensed U.S. pharmacy fills the prescription. Four, it arrives at your door in discreet, tracked packaging.

You only pay once a provider has approved your plan.

I've tried other things and nothing stuck. Why would this be different?

Because most plans are built for an average person, and you are not one.

Your intake tells a licensed provider what you have already tried, what your body did in response, and what you are actually aiming for, and your plan is written from that. Your provider can revisit it as things change.

Nobody can promise you an outcome, and anyone who does is selling you something. What we can tell you is that a real clinician looks at your situation, says honestly whether treatment makes sense, and stays reachable while you go.

What if I'm nervous about starting?

That is a reasonable way to feel, and it does not disqualify you from anything. The intake commits you to nothing.

You will see what your provider recommends and the full price before a card is ever charged, and you can stop at any point in between. Starting the conversation is not the same as starting treatment.

Is it all forms, or do I actually get to talk to someone?

There is a person on the other side of it. The intake is online because it is faster for you, not because it is the whole of it.

You can message your care team through your account with questions before, during and after treatment, and your provider may reach out if your intake needs clarification.

Which states do you serve?

It varies by plan, because availability depends on where our providers are licensed and which treatments can be shipped to your state.

Enter your state during intake and we will show you what is available to you before you go any further.

How long before I notice anything?

It depends on the treatment, your body, your starting point and how consistent you are able to be.

Some people notice changes in the first several weeks, others take longer, and some do not respond the way they hoped. Results vary from person to person and are never guaranteed.

Your provider will walk you through a realistic timeline for your specific plan — we would rather set that expectation straight than have you counting days against someone else’s story.

Visits and prescriptions

Is this prescribed by a provider?

Yes. Prescription treatments are only issued after a licensed provider reviews your intake and decides they are appropriate for you.

If they are not, they will tell you, and you will not be charged for a prescription.

Who are the providers behind Koves?

Licensed clinicians, practising in the states where they treat patients, who read your intake themselves. They are not a chatbot and not a rubber stamp on a form.

They can prescribe, decline to prescribe, ask you follow-up questions, or point you toward in-person care when that is the right call.

Do I need to see a doctor in person?

No in-person appointment is required to get started.

A licensed provider reviews your intake online and will let you know if anything further — a test, or an in-person visit — is needed to treat you safely.

Do I have to be a certain age to use Koves?

You must be 18 or older to complete an intake and be considered for treatment.

Some treatments carry additional eligibility requirements, which your provider will review with you.

Can I use Koves if I already take other medications?

Possibly, but your provider needs the full picture first.

List everything you take, including prescriptions, over-the-counter medicines and supplements, along with any conditions you have been diagnosed with. Some combinations are fine, some need adjusting, and some rule treatment out entirely.

Being thorough here is the single most useful thing you can do for your own safety. If you are unsure whether something counts, list it and let your provider decide.

What happens if I am not eligible?

Your provider will tell you, and you will not be charged for a prescription.

Where possible they will point you toward next steps, including in-person care when that is what the situation needs.

Are Koves treatments brand-name or compounded?

It depends on what you are prescribed, and you deserve a straight answer. Some treatments are brand-name prescription medications, dispensed as manufactured. Others are prepared by a state-licensed pharmacy for an individual patient.

Compounded preparations do not undergo FDA premarket review for safety, effectiveness or quality before they are dispensed.

Your provider tells you which category your plan falls into before you start, so you are never guessing about what is in the box. Ask them if anything about it is unclear.

How do I know the medication is legitimate?

Every prescription is filled by a licensed U.S. pharmacy and shipped directly to you, so nothing passes through a grey market on the way.

Treatments are prescribed only after a licensed provider reviews your intake — never sold over the counter and never without an evaluation.

If you want to verify anything about your order or the pharmacy that filled it, contact support and we will get you the details.

Is this safe?

No medication is right for everyone, and every medication carries the possibility of side effects.

That is exactly why a licensed provider reviews your health history, your current medications and your goals before anything is prescribed, and why some people are told treatment is not appropriate for them. Your provider will go over the risks and what to watch for.

If something feels wrong once you have started, message your provider. In a medical emergency, call 911 or seek immediate in-person care.

Can I adjust my treatment later?

Yes. Message your provider through your account if something is not working and they can review whether an adjustment makes sense.

What if my goals change partway through?

Then your plan should change with them.

Message your provider and they can review whether a different approach, dose or treatment makes sense for where you are now. You are not locked into the version of yourself who filled out the first intake.

What should I do about side effects?

Message your provider through your account so they can review what you are experiencing.

If you have a medical emergency, call 911 or seek immediate care rather than waiting for a reply.

How to take it?

Use your treatment exactly as directed by your licensed provider. Your provider will determine the appropriate dose, schedule, and method of use based on your health history and treatment plan. You’ll receive medication-specific instructions with your treatment, and your care team is available through secure messaging if you have questions along the way.

What does Koves offer?

A protocol built around you, with dose adjustments if needed.

A fast online visit reviewed by a licensed provider, 24/7 secure messaging plus check-ins with your care team, and medication delivered straight to your door — no pharmacy lines.

Every plan includes supplies, free shipping, a prescription if you are eligible, and ongoing medical support.

Orders and shipping

When will my order arrive?

Within a few business days of your plan being approved and filled.

Once your provider approves your plan and the pharmacy fills it, orders typically arrive within a few business days. You will get a confirmation email as soon as it ships.

How is my order packaged?

In plain, unmarked packaging. Nothing on the outside indicates what is inside or who it is from.

Can I track my order?

Yes. A tracking link is emailed to you when your order ships, and you can find it any time in your account.

What happens after my first shipment arrives?

Your care does not end at the doorstep.

Your treatment arrives with instructions, your care team stays reachable through your account, and your provider can check in on how things are going and adjust your plan if that is warranted.

If anything feels off, message your provider early rather than waiting for the next refill.

Can I pause, skip, or cancel my subscription?

Yes, from your account at any time.

Changes made before your next billing date apply to that upcoming shipment.

What if my order is late or damaged?

Reach out to support with your order number and we will sort it out, including a replacement where appropriate.

How much does it cost?

It depends on the plan your provider recommends.

You will always see the full price before anything is charged, with no hidden fees.

Do you accept insurance?

No — plans are paid for directly rather than billed to insurance.

If you would like to seek reimbursement, we can provide a receipt for your records.

Can I use an HSA or FSA card?

Many customers do, though eligibility ultimately depends on your plan administrator and the treatment itself.

You can enter an HSA or FSA card at checkout like any other card, and we can provide an itemised receipt for your records.

When am I charged?

Once your provider approves your plan, then on the same date each cycle for ongoing plans.

Your next billing date is shown in your account.

What payment methods do you accept?

Major credit and debit cards, plus the digital wallet options shown at checkout.

Can I get a refund?

Contact support and we will review your order.

Prescription products generally cannot be returned once they have been dispensed, but we will make it right where we can.

Weight loss

How do GLP-1 medications work?

They make the fullness signal your gut already sends arrive sooner and last longer, so appetite falls.

GLP-1 is a hormone your gut releases after eating. Semaglutide is a long-acting GLP-1 receptor agonist — it holds that signal open rather than creating a new one.

How much weight do people lose?

It varies by medication, by dose and by person, and every figure quoted is a trial average rather than a promise.

Each treatment page carries the figure from that medication’s own trial at that dose. Read them as what happened to a group, not as what will happen to you — your provider will set a realistic expectation from your history.

How long before anything changes?

Appetite usually changes within the first few weeks; weight follows more slowly.

The dose steps up over several months rather than starting where it finishes, so the early weeks are not the verdict. Message your provider once it has settled and the plan can be tuned.

What are the common side effects?

Nausea, diarrhoea, vomiting, constipation, stomach pain, headache and fatigue are the frequent ones, and most ease as the dose settles.

Serious risks include pancreatitis, gallbladder problems and kidney injury from dehydration.

Your provider goes through the full label before prescribing; message them about anything you notice once you have started.

What happens if I stop?

Appetite generally returns to where it was, and weight often follows.

This is a long-term treatment. Stopping is a conversation to have with your provider rather than a decision to make alone.

How is it taken?

One injection a week, on a day you pick, with or without food.

The dose steps up over several months rather than starting where it finishes — that titration is what makes the first weeks tolerable.

Who should not take it?

Anyone with a personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma, or with MEN 2.

Every GLP-1 medication Koves offers carries a boxed warning about thyroid C-cell tumours. Tell your provider if you are due a procedure under general anaesthesia or deep sedation, too.

Your provider goes through the full list before prescribing.

Is Ozempic® approved for weight loss?

No. Ozempic® is approved for type 2 diabetes.

Wegovy® is the same molecule licensed for weight management. Prescribing Ozempic® outside its licence is a clinical decision your provider makes and explains.

How is tirzepatide different from semaglutide?

Tirzepatide acts on two gut hormones rather than one.

Semaglutide acts on the GLP-1 receptor; tirzepatide acts on GLP-1 and GIP. In its own trials at the highest dose, average weight loss was about 21% over 72 weeks.

Why is it the most expensive of the five?

Tirzepatide has no generic and its list price is the highest of the group.

The $299 here is what it costs to supply, not a premium for the pen.

What are the common side effects?

Nausea, diarrhoea, vomiting and constipation lead the list, and most ease as the dose settles.

Ask your provider for the full label before starting — the Important safety information link at the top of this page has it.

What does “compounded” mean?

It is prepared by a state-licensed pharmacy for an individual patient rather than manufactured and sold as an approved drug product.

Compounded medications do not undergo FDA premarket review: the FDA does not review them for safety, effectiveness or quality in the way it reviews approved products, and a compounded preparation should not be assumed to be therapeutically equivalent to one.

Who prepares and dispenses it?

An independent state-licensed pharmacy. Koves does not compound, manufacture or dispense medication.

Koves is a technology platform that connects you with independent licensed providers and pharmacies; the prescribing decision is the provider’s alone.

How much do I take?

Your provider decides. They set the starting amount and adjust it over time based on how you respond, so there is no schedule published here to read ahead of that conversation.

It is one injection a week, on a day you pick. Message your care team if anything about the routine is not working.

Sexual health

What is erectile dysfunction?

Difficulty getting or keeping an erection firm enough for sex, often enough that it bothers you.

It has many causes — blood flow, other medications, sleep, alcohol, stress, conditions such as diabetes or high blood pressure — and which one is behind it is part of what a provider looks at.

What does Koves offer for it?

Two prescription tablets: sildenafil and tadalafil. Both are PDE5 inhibitors.

A licensed clinician assesses your symptoms and history and decides whether either is appropriate, at what dose and on what schedule — or recommends further testing or in-person care instead.

Which of the two would I get?

You do not decide that, and neither does Koves.

Sildenafil is taken ahead of time. Tadalafil can be taken ahead of time or as a smaller daily dose. Your provider chooses from your history and everything else you take, and can change it later by message.

What must I not take with either of them?

Nitrate medicines and riociguat. With a PDE5 inhibitor, the combination can cause a severe drop in blood pressure.

Certain heart conditions, alpha-blockers and other blood-pressure medicines need extra caution. Your provider reviews everything you take before deciding.

When should I get medical help?

Seek prompt care for an erection lasting more than four hours, sudden vision loss, or a sudden decrease or loss of hearing.

These are rare, and they are the ones not to wait on.

When do I take it?

Ahead of time, on the schedule your provider sets, and once in a day — never twice.

A large, fatty meal beforehand changes the timing, so your provider will go through that with you rather than leaving it to guesswork.

Will it work every time?

It works with arousal, not instead of it.

If it is not doing what you want, that is a dose conversation rather than a dead end — message your provider and they can change the dose, or move you to tadalafil.

How is it different from tadalafil?

Both are PDE5 inhibitors and both are plain tablets. The difference is the schedule.

Sildenafil is taken ahead of time; tadalafil can be taken ahead of time or as a smaller daily dose. Which one you are prescribed is your provider’s decision, made from your history and everything else you take.

What must I not take with it?

Nitrate medicines and riociguat — the combination can cause a severe drop in blood pressure.

Certain heart conditions and other blood-pressure medicines need extra caution. Your provider reviews everything you take before deciding.

When should I get medical help?

Seek prompt care for an erection lasting more than four hours, sudden vision or hearing loss, fainting or chest pain.

These are rare, and they are the ones not to wait on.

How is tadalafil different from sildenafil?

Both are PDE5 inhibitors and both are plain tablets. The difference is the schedule.

Tadalafil can be taken ahead of time or as a smaller dose every day; sildenafil is taken ahead of time only. Your provider decides which fits.

Daily or as needed — which will I get?

Your provider decides from your visit.

As-needed dosing suits people who can plan; a low daily dose suits people who would rather not think about it at all. Either can be changed later by messaging your provider.

Does food or alcohol change it?

Food does not meaningfully change how tadalafil is absorbed.

Substantial alcohol can lower blood pressure alongside it, and your provider will go through that with you before prescribing.

What must I not take with it?

Nitrate medicines and riociguat — both can cause a severe drop in blood pressure with tadalafil.

Alpha-blockers, blood-pressure medicines and certain heart conditions need extra caution. Your provider reviews everything you take before deciding.
